MOTIVE Crime & Mystery Festival is back for another exciting weekend! 

TIFA will be roaming the mysterious halls of Victoria University on the University of Toronto’s campus from June 27–29, 2025. From cozy crime and police procedural to psychological thriller and true crime, explore and celebrate a genre that has inspired some of the world’s most gripping stories from Canada and across the world. This year features writers from across Canada, France, Korea, Norway, UK and USA. Discover your next best read, participate in true crime workshops and hone your own killer writing instincts in our masterclass programme. 

A MOTIVE Pass is your ticket to explore as much of the Festival as you wish. Come for a day or join us for all three.

The MOTIVE Box Office will be located in the lobby of Victoria College. After purchasing your ticket, you’ll receive a QR code. Present it at the Box Office to get your festival badge, which grants access to all standard events. Masterclasses use QR code entry at the door, and workshops are based on a pre-registered list.
