The Festival

This fall, the Toronto International Festival of Authors welcomes acclaimed writers, passionate readers and book lovers from around the globe for Canada’s largest and longest-running literary festival, from Oct 29-Nov 2, 2025. 

Join us at our new venue, Victoria University in the University of Toronto for five inspired days featuring more than 100 events ranging from conversations, masterclasses, and readings from some of the world's most beloved authors. 

This year's international guests include Booker Prize winner Kiran Desai in her only Canadian appearance, showcasing her new book The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny; Kōtarō Isaka in his first North American appearance, with Hotel Lucky Seven, the sequel to his hit thriller Bullet Train; political commentator and author Rachel Maddow in conversation, and many more. 

Canadian guests include Giller Prize winners Ian Williams, Michael Redhill and Souvankham Thammavongsa, plus new books from Emma Donoghue, Thomas King and Madeleine Thien.

Passes

With our Pass system, you can access every event on a particular day, series of days, or for the entire Festival, for one accessible price. Wander the picturesque halls of Victoria College, discover new authors with Tea and Cake in Alumni Hall, and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow readers and writers in our festive atmosphere. 

Some events are included with Passes but require pre-registration. As you select your passes, don't forget to add Yoga & Journaling, Reading Rhythms and Writers Collective of Canada workshops to your itinerary before you check out. 

Box Office

The on-site TIFA Box Office will be located in the lobby of Victoria College and open during Festival hours. 

After purchasing your pass online, you'll receive a QR code. Present it at the Box Office in person to get your festival badge, which grants access to all standard events. 

Masterclasses use QR code entry at the door. 

Some events are free with registration. Workshops, yoga classes and Reading Rhythms are pre-registered events that can be added on when you purchase your festival passes.
